Dedicated to the memory of Ian Weed

On May 21st 2011, the world lost of one its really good guys when Ian Weed died suddenly aged just 45 in training for the Windsor Triathlon in aid of NSPCC. Ian was a devoted family man married to Cora and father of 2 sons, Declan and Euan. A special friend to many people. Always larger than life, with a cheeky smile, and a great sense of humour, those around him could not help enjoy his company. Weedy was super keen on sports, and Triathlon was something he enjoyed for years.  In 2010 he completed his first full Olympic distance triathlon. Achieving this, was a result of Ian's "never give up" attitude and his perseverance in achieving his goals. In 2011 he set his sights on completing the world renowned Windsor Triathlon. However, it was training for this event, on the actual course where the tragic accident occurred. Ian felt so passionately about the NSPCC and as a long standing patron he had already raised many thousands of pounds over the years both through donations and charitable fundraising. We would like to request your support to ensure we continue to raise as much as possible for the NSPCC and would be be extremely grateful if you would consider supporting our forthcoming memorial Golf Classic event in June 2012 and other events in the future. With many thanks Cora and friends

To Cora, Declan, Euan and all Ian's family and friends, Ian was a long term and committed Patron supporter to the NSPCC. He not only supported personally, he was also a fantastic fundraiser on our behalf and was truly passionate about protecting the UK's most vulnerable children. The support Ian gave and the support Cora and his family and friends are continuing to give in Ian's memory will help ensure that Ian is leaving a lasting legacy for children.
